SPY:2010 S-Klasse FL
The Stuttgart flagship was once again caught while wandering around German roads. The design changes are minor, but for 2009 Merc holds a long-awaited surprise for its customers:the introduction of the first series production vehicle equipped with a Li-Ion battery.
The revolutionary battery will be coupled to a 3.5 litres V6 petrol unit, able to develop 295 BHP and 375 Nm. The engine will be found under the bonnet of the S 400 HYBRID and it will also be linked with a 15 kW electric motor. The performance data for the new S-Klasse version is quite impressive:7.3 seconds to reach 100 km/h and an overall fuel consumption of about 7.9 litres/100 km.
