Rocketeer...

This damn song has been stuck in my head for the longest time. Check out the video clip of Far East Movement performing Rocketeer. Has some really dope S30's in there. Dammit I still want one of those. Timeless classic...

Clip below...

Here's another rendition "To You- "Rocketeer" (REMIX) ft. Erin Kim, GOWE, Travis Graham". I like it. I have a thing for great sounding female vocals. It's so pleasantly relaxing to listen to.

350z's almost perfect balance

Edit : Whoops, my mistake, it's a 350z. Thanks zahid, Van Strapp, ikus. Lack of sleep must have caused me to go cross-eyed. *laughs* So sorry.

We all know the 350z has an almost perfect weight distribution of 54/46, front-to-rear. This photo of an accident in New York really sums that up.

Drive safe peeps.

Sneak preview of Joe Yap's (#TV2) Bayside Blue BNR34

Joe use to drive around in a nice maroon RX-8.

He later decided to move on to a wicked kitted 350Z.

On Friday, August 28, 2009, after a Teh Tarik session at Aman Suria, Joe was bitten by the GT-R bug. We had all gone for a drive (The one with the Friday night TT) to Putrajaya and boy was he smitten. I remember him asking me plenty of questions while parked at the side of the road and eventually ending the conversation with him saying, "I think I will get one soon...". I guess he literary meant what he said!

Fast forward a couple of weeks later, Joe Yap has just gotten himself a nice (#TV2) Bayside Blue BNR34. Unfortunately, he had some complications and had to wait for his car to be delivered but according to him, it should be in his hands by next week.

Here are a couple of pictures he put up.

He has already begun to make a list of things he wants done to it. Congratulations Joe! Welcome to the wonderful world of the Nissan GT-R.

Wangan Midnight : The Movie

Looks like a movie is going to be out real soon. I'm tingling with excitement!

The official website of Kodansha Comics has announced on Saturday that a theatrical film based on Michiharu Kusunoki's Wangan Midnight street-racing manga will open in Japan this summer. Like the previous television anime and video features, Wangan Midnight the Movie will center on a young man named Akio who salvages "Devil Z," a custom-tuned Datsun Fairlady S30Z car with a supposedly cursed history.

So excited!

Check out the trailer (Thanks Bryan!)

You can find out more at their official site, '???????? THE MOVIE'

I really love the S30 Datsun... Anyone wants to sell one to me? I wouldn't mind starting a project car. *laughs*
Couple of previous posts with the S30, 'Evo kicking R34's butt', 'Fairlady Z' and 'Z'.

Fairlady Z

I've always loved the S30 Datsun. It's classic stylish coupe body reminded me very much of the sports cars of the 60's and 70's like the Jaguar E types from 19611975 or the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.

Which lead me to follow the anime and manga series called the Wangan Midnight.

The story is centered around a high school student in his last year of his education and how he got in to racing on the Wangan with the many encounters and battles on it. He picks up a midnight blue Fairlady Z (S30) in the junkyard which he finds out is unnaturally fast due to a tuned L28 engine, bored and stroked to 3.1 L and fitted with twin turbos.

Of course, when I came across this Fairlady Z while I was browsing one day, naturally I got all excited. It looks exactly like the 'Devil Z' from the anime and manga series!

However, this midnight blue Datsun has plenty more. In fact, the old L-series engine was swapped out and in went a new RB26! Looks simply amazing if you ask me. Notice how the crank/camshaft angle sensor has been sealed off.

Gorgeous!

I've been meaning to obtain one of these as hopefully what might be the start of a nice project car. If you do come across any in Malaysia, please do let me know and maybe you'll see a Fairlazy Z like the ones in the pictures gracing the streets of Kuala Lumpur.
