Kyle Busch does it again at Daytona

Kyle Busch pulled another win out last night in last nights Coke Zero 400. Busch held off a spirited charge by Carl Edwards in a green-white-checkered situation to take his sixth win of the year.

"We didn't have the best car tonight," Busch said. "But these guys never gave up. Luckily, we were leading when the caution came out."

The night was bit of wreck fest with the yellow flag coming out 11 times during trace which included two large crashes at the end of the night, including one that sent the race into overtime when Jimmie Johnson spun and collected six others. Kyle Busch was given the narrow lead on Jeff Gordon for the final restart. The field was bunched up when the green flag came out for the final time and Carl Edwards turned Jeff Gordon spinning him out which made Gordon's car stall and relegated him to a 30th place finish. Meanwhile with Edwards and Busch duking it out for the lead, the rest of the field behind them decided it would be cool to play bumper cars that worked pretty well until Michael Waltrip and others got together on the final lap in turn 1 bringing out the caution and ending the race.

"I was driving as hard as I could," Edwards said. "Man, I hate to lose that thing like that. I was doing everything I could."

Meanwhile Jeff Gordon wasn't really surprised on how the race ended.

"We had such an awesome night going," Gordon said. "I'm so excited about the way we ran, obviously disappointed with the way it finished. � They were all laying back, we were all playing kind of cat and mouse on that last restart, you know on a green-white-checkered. � We were going for the win, trying to get the momentum and the 99 [of Edwards] got a run and I went low to block him and he kept going low and I guess I must have come across the front bumper."

"I knew it was just a matter of time before we got wrecked the way they were bump-drafting and getting pretty crazy out there," Gordon said. "I'm excited about the way we ran. We had a great opportunity to win the race. I have to look at the videos. It might have been my fault, I don't know."

After Busch and Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch and David Ragan rounded out the top five.
And Kyle Busch extends his points lead to 182 over Dale Earnhardt Jr. The next Sprint Cup race will be next Saturday night at Chicagoland Speedway.

Temper, Temper

Kyle Busch and Juan Montoya had meeting of the fenders towards the end of Sunday's race in New Hampshire. Before the final caution came out the two were racing each other hard and after they both took the caution Busch rubbed into Montoya's car, Montoya didn't appreciate that and turned Busch unfortunately it didn't work out well for Montoya, as he was tagged by Busch's spinning car and spun out also. NASCAR didn't really care for Montoya's actions and penalized him two laps dropping him from 25th to 32nd in the final results.

"He hit me under caution, he hit me under green and I retaliated," Montoya said. "Did I go too far in retaliating? Yeah. I think they are giving me a penalty and it's OK for what I did. The only thing I told them was that they are always saying be very careful not to do anything under caution. The only reason I did that was that I was just defending myself."

Busch claims that he did nothing to upset Montoya.

"I got a run on him earlier and I got on the outside and he kind of kept coming up a little bit," said Busch. "I didn't turn down into him and just barely touched his quarter-panel. Then I got by him in three and four and he run me up the racetrack in the left rear. Then we came to that caution flag and he thought he beat me to the caution flag and I was just trying to get around the 40 (Dario Franchitti) car, who was in front of us there and touched him on the door and he just turned left and spun me down the front straightaway. I don't know what his beef is, but obviously NASCAR should probably fix it."

Busch to drive in modfied race in New Hampshire

Kyle "Rowdy" Busch will have another chance to give competitors a headache this weekend as he will drive in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Series race in New Hampshire on Saturday. Busch will team up with Martin Truex Jr's crew chief Kevin "Bono" Manion and pilot his #7 car in the race.

Corn, France and Kyle Busch

F1: Man, I wish really had something to talk about this race, but the French Grand Prix was terribly boring. Felipe Massa got the win after his Ferrari teammate Kimi Raikkonen had a piece of his exhaust come lose that cost him dearly in the horsepower that he needed to get the victory, Raikkonen did hold on to second though. Jarno Trulli finished third in his Toyota, his first podium since 2005. Hekki Kovalainen, Robert Kubica, Mark Webber, Nelson Piquet and Fernando Alonso rounded out the top 8. Massa with the win, now takes the points lead away from Kubica. The F1 circus will head off to jolly old England for the British Grand Prix in two weeks.

Indycar: Despite the gloomy weather the state has seen over the past few weeks, Sunday produced beautfiul weather for the Indycar race in which Dan Wheldon, on his 30th birth used pit stratgey to hold off the young Japaneese rookie Hideki Mutoh for the win. But the day was for the flood victims as Wheldon and his teammate Scott Dixon donated thier winnings to the victims. Marco Andretti, Dixon and A.J. Foyt IV rounded out the top 5. Scott Dixon extends his points lead over Helio Castroneves to 48.

NASCAR: Kyle Busch got another victory on Sunday in Somona in a very strong car. Busch held off a final challenge by David Gilliand and took his fifth victory of the season. Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer and Casey Mears rounded out the top five. Busch extends his points lead over Jeff Burton to 103 points.

Busch ready for another tripleheader this weekend

Kyle "Rowdy" Busch will be racing in NASCAR's three top series again this weekend. Busch will race in both the Truck Series race in Michigan and Nationwide Series race in Kentucky on Saturday and then race in Sunday's Cup series race in Michigan.

�I�m really looking forward to it [running the Nationwide race],� Busch said. �The last time I raced there two years ago, I had a shot to win the race and missed out on it after I won my first race there back in 2004. We�ll compete in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Michigan and get right down to Kentucky and get in the Farm Bureau Insurance Toyota and see what we have there. It�s going to be a busy day for me, but days like that almost feel normal to me now."

�Kentucky is just a fun place because it�s wide and it�s fast. You can run these cars so hard into the corner and still get through the corner pretty quick. It�s gotten bumpier over the past several years, so it�s definitely getting some character to it, which I like. It�s always been a good track to me, and I really like going there.�

The only hurdle that Busch will face this weekend is that he won't be able to qualify or practice his Nationwide car and that his car is not locked into the field for the race Saturday night and will have to qualify on time. Those duties will be left up to ARCA driver Jeremy Clements.

�We want to get the car as good as we can for Kyle so when he hops into it, he can drive it up to the front,� Clements said. �But I�m sure there aren�t any worries about that since I think he�ll do that regardless. The first lap in qualifying will be very important and will just be conservative to get it in the show. And then, on the second lap, I�ll go a little bit harder to try to get up toward the front and get a good pit stall for these guys.�

And yes Busch looks pretty goofy with that cowboy hat on.

Pure insanity for the Rowdy one

Last weekend, Kyle Busch ran in all three of NASCAR's major series in Dover scoring a victory in Sunday's Cup Race. Last night Busch was in Eldora trying to find victory in the Prelude to the Dream, instead Busch found the wall and his car covered in mud.

This weekend Kyle Busch will try to attempt something that no one has seen before race in all three of NASCAR's major series in different parts of the country. Friday night, Busch will be in Fort Worth, Texas for the Craftsman Truck Series race, Saturday night Busch will be in Nashville for the Nationwide race and in between those two races, Busch will practice and qualify for Sunday's Sprint Cup race in Pocono. To top that all off Busch is in New Jersey today doing an appearance in New Jersey for his sponsor M&M's.

So what does Rowdy Busch think about his crazy stunt that he is trying to pull off this weekend? "It's fun for the fans I think, too, to see me be able to be as crazy or as stupid as I might be and trying to run all these," Busch said. "They get the excitement of seeing whether or not I'll succeed or fail. That's a good part of it, too."

Busch also isn't concerned about the physical strain he'll be receiving in the 1,000 plus miles of racing he'll be doing this weekend. "I don't think that I've got any stamina worries or anything like that," Busch said. "I think all that will play out. It will be fine.
"The only thing that I do worry, we have a TV crew and stuff like that going with us. They're wanting to film what goes on the plane, off the plane, this and that and everywhere. That's kind of going to be probably the most draining thing, is just toting them around with us.
"Shouldn't be that big a deal. I'd like to sleep on the plane. But I guess they've got questions they want to ask me on the plane that will take a little bit of time. Other than that, normally I'm pretty good at sleeping on planes. I look forward to getting a couple naps on there back and forth."

The thing Mr. Busch should worry about is the weather, one rainy day could screw up his whole schedule. I'm sure he isn't worried about missing the truck or Nationwide race, but if problems arise that could cause him to miss the Cup race on Sunday, his position in the Chase for the Cup could be put in jeopardy.

Nothing will stop Kyle Busch, not even a stolen helmet

Kyle Busch's helmet was stolen Friday night, but the culprit was caught which is good thing for Kyle because he has two victories with that helmet including Sunday's victory at Dover.

Busch didn't really care too much about losing his helmet.
"It didn't matter," Busch said. "It's not a lucky helmet." Team owner Joe Gibbs disagrees now that Busch has two victories with the helmet. "On second thought, it might be a lucky helmet," Gibbs said.

It was the same old song and dance

Yesterday, I talked about anyone having a chance to put the juggernaut that was Kyle Busch down. Unfortunately that wasn't the case towards the end of the race as Busch dominated the last half of the race to take his fourth win of the year at Dover holding off Carl Edwards for the win.

"We didn't have the car to beat [Sunday]," said Busch. "Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle did. But our guys on pit road [were] phenomenal -- got us out front -- and that's what won the race for us. The guys that pitted this thing on pit road definitely won the race for us."

And Busch was right it seemed that was going to Biffle's or Edward's day. Of course many contenders for the win on Sunday were taken out in a lap 18 crash.



And while were talking about the crash lets give the brain-dead move of the race to Denny Hamlin. Seriously, Denny do you know where the brake pedal is?

After a 20 minute red flag session the race got underway again and looked like it would be Greg Biffle's race until electrical gremlins struck him halfway through the race, Biffle would have to struggle the rest of the day without air conditioning and brake fans to finish third. Biffle's problems handed the lead to his teammate Carl Edwards, but a slow final pit stop would cost him the victory. With very few cautions and lots of green flag runs only six cars managed to finish all 400 laps, the same amount did it last fall. Along with Busch, Edwards and Biffle. Matt Kenseth and Jeff Gordon rounded out the top five.

With this win Busch extends his point lead to 142 over Jeff Burton who finished eighth on Sunday. The Sprint Cup series heads off to Pocono where TNT will take over the TV coverage and sadly that means Bill Weber has arrived.

Hamlin wins, Kyle Busch still a total douchebag

Denny Hamlin won his second Nationwide Series race at Dover holding Carl Edwards for victory. �It�s a great win for us,� said Hamlin, who won for the seventh time in 101 career series starts. �We just bided our time and ran as hard as we needed to at certain points of that race and everything paid off there at the end.�

The race started three hours late due to rain and severe weather in the Dover area, but soon enough
they dried the track and dropped the green flag and Denny Hamlin quickly ran away with the lead, but soon enough Kyle Busch showed up and took the lead. The race seemed to be in Busch's hands until he and Brad Keselowski collided on pit road sending the Busch to the tail end of the lead lap with damage. Busch worked his way back up through the field, but then got tangled up with teammate Jason Leffler with 32 laps to go leading Kyle Busch to go off on another crybaby rants:


"I just have a teammate who can't stand being number two," Busch said. Wow, Kyle, just wow. Kyle just finds new ways to blow my mind everyday with that kind of douchebagery. Meanwhile those chain of events let Denny Hamlin have the lead and the victory. Edwards, David Stremme, David Reutimann and Greg Biffle rounded out the top 5. Young Joey Lagano finsihed 6th in his first Nationwide start.

Kevin Harvick has some advice for young Kyle Busch

2007 Daytona 500 winner and frequent Rogaine user, Kevin Harvick has some advice for young driver and frequent pain in the ass Kyle "Rowdy" Busch.

�Kyle Busch is an incredibly talented driver. He�s very good at what he does, but I think his age shows through in a lot of aspects,� Harvick said. �You know, that�s not a bad thing. I�ve been in the same boat, and you learn to respect the people around you, and it all takes its toll on you. It doesn�t necessarily take its toll on you immediately; it takes its toll on you as you move down the road."

�You know, you have to respect the guys that laid the foundation for the sport that got you here. I think just the immaturity is probably the biggest thing that he has going for himself, and this sport has a very good way of breaking you of those habits pretty easily."

Harvick would also like the remind Mr. Busch that just because he is leading the Sprint Cup standings and winning race out the ying-yang doesn't mean it will last forever.

�At some point, all that momentum goes away,� he said. �It doesn�t last forever, and I think a lot of people look at you, and that�s probably the biggest thing I learned as I came in and was kind of the same way. You think that you�re invincible, and pretty soon you�re not. Then you don�t have anybody to turn to in the garage, and that becomes a little bit of a problem as you move down the road or you need a favor or somebody to come do something or you need a new job or whatever the case may be."

�At some point all that disrespect comes back � no matter how good you�re doing because you�re not going to do good forever," Harvick said. "It's all in how you handle yourself in a five-year stretch, not a five-month stretch.�

By the way is it me or does that picture of Kyle Busch just plain creepy. I mean look at the way hes staring at the camera, he's more creepier than the Philly Phanatic.

How bout that 9 car?!

I'm going to be honest with you folks I'm a big Kasey Kahne fan and last night's win left me feeling pretty titillated (teehee, titillated). Which is a much different feeling than I felt last night, I was in shock, I seriously thought that the Bud crew screwed up on that final pit stop and that it was game over for the 9 car and Tony Stewart was going to get his first 600 win and then it happened, Tony blows a tire and soon enough Kasey flies right by him for the win.

Just amazing.

And how about Donny Lia pulling off his first carrer truck series win for he and The Racer's Group at Mansfield by holding off and bumping off David Starr and Todd Bodine for the win. And Kyle Busch gets a win in the Nationwide Series race in Charlotte making it 9 wins in 30 starts across NASCAR's top three series, now if only he had a personality, I would actually appreciate that.

No Respect

The last few weeks in NASCAR have seen quite a few confrontations between drivers. After a Nationwide race in Richmond Kyle Busch confronted Steven Wallace after Busch felt that Wallace raced him to hard on the final lap. Wallace responded to Busch words by yanking his helmet and calling Busch, "a girl".

This weekend was chalked full of conflicts towards the end of Saturday night's Nationwide race, Brad Keselowski ran into the back of Denny Hamlin's car, Hamlin retaliated by veering his car into Keselowski's and damaging Keselowski's left front quarter-panel. Keselowski's owner Dale Earnhardt, Jr retaliated by running his car into the back of Hamlin's car. The whole thing ended with the crews of the teams having a shoving match on pit lane after the race. The mystery though is what started the whole thing in the first place.

�I don�t know,� said Keselowski, when asked in the media center why he drove into Hamlin under the yellow. �He�s here. Ask him.�

�Ask him first,� Hamlin retorted. �I retaliated. I didn�t retaliate based on what happened earlier in the race.� Hamlin then went off about the is a lack of repsect there is for Cup drivers from the Nationwide drivers. �You throw a rock, I�m going to throw a concrete block back,� he said. �You�re going to have to deal with it.�

Keselowski disagrees with Hamlin's views. �I race one day a week,� he said. �I don�t race twice a week. I�ve got one day a week to prove myself. I have 200 laps, not 400. I have to take every opportunity I have to prove myself.�

Last night even more conflicts spawned with Tony Stewart and Juan Montoya getting into a shoving match with their cars down the backstrecth and towards the end of the race Kyle Busch gave the "you're number one!" signal to Jeff Gordon after Gordon held Busch up while Busch was trying to lap him. The two former teammates had a heated discussion after the race and Gordon gave his views on the matter.

�He�s got an issue because he gave me the finger, and you know what?� Gordon said. �That�s not necessary for a guy he just didn�t like racing him the way I did. Kyle and I never had any issues, but I raced him hard tonight just like I did everybody. And when track position is as important as it is here, you�ve got to race every single car for every single position. And I wasn�t going to give anybody an inch, and I was racing for position."

This lack of respect will only continue as long as NASCAR allows it and with NASCAR's new theme this year of bringing old-school racing I don't expect this problem to end anytime soon. I do hope someone comes along soon and knocks some of these assholes in there place. This sport needs real men driving stock cars, not 5-year olds bumping tricycles and getting into a slap fight about it.

Kyle Busch to test F1 car, maybe to F1 in the future?

Just when you think one Kyle Busch story today wasn't enough. Kyle Busch will get to test a Toyota Formula 1 car in Japan later this year. Busch will also take one of his Sprint Cup cars for the occasion. So is F1 in the Shrub's future? "I'm planning on retiring at 30 and going Formula One racing,� the 23-year-old Busch said at Lowe's Motor Speedway. God help those poor Formula 1 drivers.

Kyle Busch to run Nationwide race at Watkins Glen for D'Hondt

D'Hondt Motorsports announced that Kyle Busch will be doing a one-off Nationwide race for them at the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen in August. Busch will look for his second road course win of the year in the #92 D'Hondt Toyota.
