Mercedes-Benz outsells Lexus in the luxury segment in the U.S.


Mercedes-Benz qualified as the top premium brand in the United States of America in September 2010, surpassing Lexus in the overall sales numbers. The German carmaker sold 20,666 vehicles last month and 165,427 on a year basis, almost 3,000 more than the Japanese luxury competitor. This encouraging result comes as a demonstration of the strong growth in sales Mercedes-Benz experienced in the recent months, with total percentages reaching between 17% and 22%-23% compared to the similar period in 2009.
