Chrison's 'The Driver' animation series

I saw this posted on Eu Jin's blog the other day (EJ's Nissan Skyline GF-ER34 (??????)). Then reader 350zzz shared it too.

'The Driver' by Chrison. Who is TheDriver? - "TheDriver" is an animated tv series scheduled for a Summer 2011 release.

Chrison is a great animator and I'm sure you've all seen his previous work, "Extreme Limit" 2001, an official short. "Extreme Limit" is the first animated short done by Chrison and he clipped it with "No One Sleep in Tokyo" Music by EDO BOYS. You know, the stuff you hear on Initial D? *laughs*

Gallardo Great Balls of Fire

This is the result of 'Straight-Piping' the bull and this work of art was masterfully created by Fluid MotorUnion. Their attention to detail is immaculate and an extra 30whp added to the rear wheels.

How much power can a manufacturer like Lamborghini leave untapped in a car like the Gallardo? What does it take to un-tap that power; to allow that V-10 to reach it�s true potential? Well we found a little more of that potential power.

All of the research, engineering, planning, and design have resulted in, what is my opinion, Craig�s best exhaust to date. Indeed, a great deal of engineering went into the original stock exhaust, but it is a result of compromise. The need to make it fit in on public streets around the world severely hampers the potential sensory extravaganza of an exotic like the Lamborghini Gallardo. We�ve taken the desire of the customer, to unleash an F1 sound that we all know is in there somewhere, and combined it with our knowledge, experience, and ear. I think we�ve hit the nail on the head with this one.

I don�t really like to call the result streetable, it simply doesn�t fit. Seeing a Gallardo drive past on the street will certainly grab your attention. However it�s akin to watching a cheetah pace back and forth in its cage at the zoo. Is it there simply for our viewing pleasure? Can we really appreciate something without seeing it pushed to its design limits? If you�ve ever had the opportunity to push anything to its real limits, plane, train, or automobile, you know what I�m talking about. (Although on second thought pushing a train to the limit might be best approximated by running Mike�s 7 down the freeway at 5,000 RPM. Closing your eyes, listening to the click-clack of the engine, and breathing in the burning oil is a pretty good rendition.)

A cheetah racing full tilt across the savannah is a creature that is not even comparable to his disheartened cousin back at the zoo. In the same fashion a Lamborghini idling by on the street cannot be compared to one let loose on a track.

That�s the ability and sound we wanted to give this car. And sound it has. Describing it is nigh impossible to sum up. It makes you instinctively want to assume the fetal position if you are on the outside of the cockpit sans ear plugs. It has an explosiveness that makes it feel like world around you is being shredded to little bits. At the same time, in contrast to the typical American notion of automotive power, it is a wonderfully smooth immersion to hundreds of pieces all producing their own music in perfect symphony and harmony,in no way harsh or astringent to the ears.

Also, in a manner that was not intentionally planned, but rather obvious after observing the resulting fluid dynamics of the system, this bad boy will throw fireballs I�ve never experienced in person before. In a real life rendition of anime chi they exit the pipe emitting a shock wave you can feel throughout your body.

But back to streetabilty in the real world. The fact of the matter is that this car will spend most of its life on public roads. As a countermeasure to the inevitable noise violations we fitted the system with a couple of valves from Hyperflow. These little guys really pull down the volume at idle and cruise loads. At the flick of a switch or pound of the gas pedal however they snap open and let the V-10 sing in the full magnitude of internal combustion glory.

An exhaust system must be designed with attributes of pressure tuning, flow characteristics, and weight savings. Pulling those things together in an aesthetic combination of beauty and art that pleases all the senses is what it�s all about.
Making an extra 30 horsepower at the wheels of an all wheel drive car doesn�t hurt either.

Another Gallardo Wrecked

According to Aaron, his friend's car and three others (all parked) got rearranged by the errant Lambo. Note the effectiveness of the Gallardo's wedge shape at lifting the SUV Saab 9-5 wagon, and the sturdiness of its structure. Good work, Lamborghini! Badly done, Gallardo driver!

Lamborghini Gallardo Italian police car... Wrecked

Ouch...

The Lamborghini Gallardo that crashed into parked cars on its way from an exhibition in Cremona. The crash occurred after the car, which belonged to the Bologna police was cut up (Ed. - We're assuming that's the Euro version of "cut off") by another motorist leaving a service station.

A European drink called Oasis, got promoters to market their drink in Paris, France but all the attention went to the Lamborghini Gallardo next to them in a display advertising Need for Speed Shift.

Playboy Launch/Promo

Playboy is launching their new line of fragrances and today, while I was at Mid Valley, I walked by their concourse promo at the Center Court.

It's a pretty cool setup and they even borrowed a Lamborghini Gallardo from Naza.

There were two models in the signature Playboy bunny outfits posing with the car. Plenty of other girls with just the bunny ears sampling their perfumes to passerby's too.

They're also giving away a Prada and Burberry handbag Saturday, October 10th, 4-6pm. All you have to do, is just show up at the road show at that time in your sexiest Playboy Bunny outfit; garner votes as the favourite �bunny� from the crowd, and win one of the 2 handbags up for grabs. That should be interesting to see... *grin*

A little bit more, the Gallardo Superleggera

Here are a couple more shots I took that night of the Gallardo Superleggera (previous entry, 'Teaser, the Gallardo Superleggera') . I didn't really want to put these up as I forgot to remove the hideous cardboard box I use to protect the wall from the exhaust splatters. Anyway, I haven't had the time to take more shots of her so here is a little bit more to temporarily satisfy the appetites of those of you who have been waiting. Hopefully I'll find time again to shoot her soon. =)

Sharpie Gallardo

Came across these pictures of a Lamborghini Gallardo covered in a design drawn in with Sharpie markers. Madness! The things people do to their cars.


This car was done for the company Prestige Imports situated in Miami, Florida.


It took about a total of two weeks to lay down the art with Sharpie markers on the Gallardo's white coat of paint and when it was all done, it was finished off with a clear coat for protection.

ZR Auto Gallardo at SEMA Show 2008

Check out the 1000hp Lamborghini Gallardo from ZR Auto I took at the SEMA Show 2008. It really caught my eye with that eye-catching green paint. Wicked! ZR Auto is a family owned, Canadian based company which deals with exotics as well as modding them. How sick is that!



If you look closely, you'll notice that is sports a wide body.






4.9 Liter Twin Heffner Turbos produce 800bhp on pump gas and 1000hp on race gas. Stunning!
