Koenigsegg CCX


The Koenigsegg CCX is a supercar which features a breath taking CC shape and it is priced at $545,568
The word �CCX� means �Competition Coupe X� and the CCX was launched marking the 10th anniversary of Koenigsegg. The body of the car is made of aluminum and it features the fog lamps, front lamps, brake cooling system, optimal headlights, ICEM Surf CAD software and it has 50 mm space at the headroom, which makes it as the most spacious car.


Koenigsegg CCX has a Supercharged V8 engine with a capacity of 4700 cc. The engine delivers an output power of 806 bhp at 6900 rpm and 678 lb-ft torque at 5700 rpm. It can reach from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds and the top speed is about 245 mph. The CCX features 6-speed Manual transmission and the gear shifts can be performed easily and smoothly even at higher loads.The CCX features the carbon fiber wheels with ceramic discs which consist of eight piston calipers in the front and six piston calipers in the rear.

The exteriors feature the fog lamps, front lamps and optimal headlights. The interiors are mainly designed of carbon fiber and it features the leather seats, air conditioning system and the stylish dash board.

Koenigsegg Agera


If there was one word to describe the 2010 Koenigsegg Agera it would be timeless, just by studying it carefully, you may find it somehow hard to imagine that this supercar�s design and shape was a product of Swedish ingenuity over 15 years ago. But don�t let mere appearances fool you as this powerful vehicle is bound to give you a unique driving experience no matter if you�re on the road or on the track.


The Koenigsegg Agera features the best in braking technology as it makes use of an adjustable ABS system giving you reliable brakes regardless of what the road condition may be. The 4.7 V8 engine allows you to enjoy a top speed of 390 km/hr and an impressive acceleration, making this car a strong contender to become one of the best supercars of the time. But that doesn�t mean that it�s not practical as well as its new traction control adapts the car�s functionality to different driving styles and road conditions in a matter of milliseconds.

Looking on the bright side, at least the owners won't have much trouble stumping up the parking fine.
But even when you've just bought Harrods for �1.5billion, and the cars are among the fastest and most exclusive in the world, getting them clamped is still a bit of an inconvenience.
The uniquely liveried supercars belong to the Qatari royal family, which bought the flagship store three months ago.
On the left is a Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce, worth �350,000. In front of it is a bespoke specification Koenigsegg CCXR, one of only six in the world and worth a staggering �1.2million.

Back home on the open highways and expressways around Qatar, either car could still fall victim to speed cameras (providing, that is, the cameras can register top speeds in excess of 200mph).
But anyone who has ever nipped into Harrods for a few minutes could have told them that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea shows no mercy - or discrimination - towards parking regulation breaches in the cramped, crowded streets that surround it.

Hence, two large yellow triangles rather spoiled the sleek lines of the fabulously rare cars when clampers contracted by the council spotted them driverless and illegally parked. Within minutes, they made sure the cars were going nowhere fast.
That set in train the universally familiar hassle of paying a release fee (�70), coughing up a fine (between �40 and �120, with a reduction for prompt payers), and sorting out the paperwork.
Hopefully none of the wheels was damaged during the clamping operation - the Koenigsegg's are made of carbon-magnesium and cost �3,000 each. Nor was the driver obliged to hand over the key. A diamond encrusted option is available for �36,000.

Shoppers and tourists craned for a peek at the spectacle as it unfolded in the heart of Knightsbridge.
The council, which clamped 8,883 vehicles in the borough last year, declined to comment specifically on the case, as did Harrods.
The Koenigsegg is built to customer requirements, right down to body-contour matching seats. Potential CCXR buyers are flown to company HQ on an airbase in Sweden, where boss Christian Von Koenigsegg takes them for a spin.
Such is his confidence in the car's stability that he accelerates to 200mph and slams on the brakes - without putting his hands on the steering wheel.
The Qatar version of the car is said to produce more than 1,064bhp, does 0-60mph in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 249mph. Petrol consumption - of less concern in the oil rich Middle East than in SW1 - is around 14mpg.

The Lamborghini has a top speed of 213mph and is capable of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Only 350 have been built.
Both cars are finished in the Al-Thani royal family's hallmark 'baby blue' colour, although it would be unfair to have expected the clampers to know that.
The family has an estimated personal wealth of �2.4billion as well as stakes in dozens of businesses around the world.
They live a playboy lifestyle and assets include a fleet of multi-million pound yachts and luxury homes in countries across the globe.
They own a string of luxury vehicles - including a one-off, 7.3litre V12 Pagani Zonda Uno. If only the drivers had taken advantage of the Harrods valet parking fee. It costs just �10 for the first hour.

Geneva 2010: NLV Quant Concept


The second generation NVL Quant made its public debut in front of media yesterday in Geneva, bringing with it what NVL Solar, its creator, calls "a breakthrough the market eagerly has been anticipating for years." While this last statement is a matter of interpretation, the Quant does bring a range of interesting features. The most exciting thing about it, however, is the promise to turn production version rather sooner than later.


Set to be production ready next year, the Quant was designed to prove "cutting-edge supercars can combine speed, comfort and enjoyment with environmental integrity." It features two different battery systems ("a long-life metal-air battery or a rechargeable redox flow cell"), four torque-vectoring electric motors, a full carbon fiber chassis, and a revolutionary thin-film coated photovoltaic body.


The Quant has some initial performance figures which would give a regular, internal combustion engined supercar, a good run for its money: 2.8 seconds 0-100 km/h acceleration time and a top speed of 377 km/h (234 mph).


The latter converts light into electricity to supply the operating electronics and the battery. While it's a bit technical, NLV says the coating has "an average photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 38%, depending on ambient conditions, and a peak performance of over 50%." More importantly, the company believes they can tune the material's absorption characteristics to create multiple layers with their own unique absorption frequency. As impressive as this is, NLV estimates the film will have a degradation coefficient of only 5-6% over 20 years.


The Quant comes with four airbags, ABS and ESP, two infotainment panels for the rear seats, zone Climate Control system, LED front and rear lights and, la piece de resistance, NLV photovoltaic thin film solar coating all over the body of the car.

Technics

The NLV Quant is proof that cutting-edge supercars can combine speed, comfort and enjoyment with environmental integrity. It implents the mobile energy technology of the future. The NLV Quant has two different battery systems, a torque vectoring with 4 electric motors and a full carbon chassis. A thin-film coated photvoltaic car body supplies the operating electronics and also supports the battery. Gull-wing doors provide easy access to all four passengers.

Carbon Chassis

A reason for the car's low weight is the utilisation of a carbon-fibre monotube backbone chassis, construction, which houses the FAES system safely inside the centreline of the car at the lowest possible position, bringing down the centre of gravity and central mass point.

Using tradition lay-up, the vacuum bag generates the pressure for consolidating the carbon plies. In RTM process there are two moulds and the pressure comes only from the resin pump. The design becomes quite critical as inner and outer skin has to be perfectly defines in order to have a designed volume matching exactly the tooling volume. The risk is to have voids generated by not precise fitting of the inner cores.

Thin Film

The NLV Quant is coated with a thin film made of pyrite, which converts light into electricity to supply the operating electronics and also support the battery. This innovative pyrite technology is cost-effective, efficient and ecological.

NLV Solar AG has developed an iron-sulphur composite semiconductor using digital prototyping, with very promising results. The research indicates:

  • an average photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 38%, depending on ambient conditions, and a peak performance of over 50%
  • the possibility of fine-tuning the material's absorption characteristics by modification of its crystal lattice structure using ion implantation; stacked in a multilayer thin-film cell, it would be possible to tune each layer to a different target absorption frequency
  • as a thin-film cell, the material could be applied to substrates in a transparent, semi-transparent or tinted coating
  • the projected degradation coefficient is only 5-6% over 20 years

Electric Power

The NLV Quant allows for the modular installation of either a long-life metal-air battery or a rechargeable redox flow cell. These are both future-oriented, secure energy sources which help give the Quant exceptional power and range.

Speed

The projected curb weight of 1680 kg is very light considering that it is a battery-powered, four-seater, luxury performance car. This is partly due to the four-motor installation- a remarkable achievement which allows the NLV Quant to deliver 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and hit a top speed of 377 km/h.

Gullwing

The gull-wing doors set the NLV Quant apart from any other four-seaters on the market. As well as being a stylish feature, they also make entry to the car more ergonomic, thanks to the lack of B-pillars. They provide easy access to both the front and rear passenger seats. The unique split side-lite feature allows either passenger to open and close the front and rear side windows separately, despite the fact that there is only one door per side.

Geneva Motor Show: NLV Quant returns with less Koenigsegg


A year ago in Geneva, NLV Solar and Swedish supercar builder Christian von Koenigsegg turned up with a four-seat electric car that incorporated photovoltaic energy collectors in the body surface. At that time, it was nothing more than a styling buck. Next week, again in Geneva, NLV will be back to provide an update on the Quant (this time without Koenigsegg). The company is now planning to have a running prototype of the Quant on the road later this year with a production-certified machine by 2012.

The Koenigsegg Trevita - The Shimmering Diamond


When sunlight hits the car, it sparkles like millions of silvery white diamonds infused inside the visible carbon fiber weave bodywork.


Trevita is an abbreviation in Swedish and translates into - three whites. The Koenigsegg visible carbon weave body work is renowned around the globe for its perfection and uniqueness. However, so far it has only been possible to utilize the classic black carbonfibres.


As Koenigsegg always strives to create new unique technologies and solutions, we have now reached a new milestone -The Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave.


By utilising a new and unique method, Koenigsegg has managed to coat fibers with a diamond finish. The process was fully developed at Koenigsegg headquarters in �ngelholm Sweden, where the fiber treatment is conducted carefully in small quantities, prior to further processing the prepreg material.


Koenigsegg will only produce three Trevitas in total, hence the name. This makes the Trevita one of the most rare versions in the Koenigsegg family cars.


The three cars are fully equipped with Koenigsegg Shimmering Diamond Weave bodywork, double carbon wing, paddle-shift, inconell exhaust system, carbon ceramic brakes with ABS, hydraulic lifting system, infotainment system, tyre monitoring system, chrono instrument cluster and airbags.
