Produced in 1957, basically from 'left over' Jaguar D-Type pressings, the XKSS was simply a racing car with some road car trim. It retained the D-Type 250bhp 'drysump' engines and disc brakes, and much of the performance. Only 16 were built before a disastrous fire at the Jaguar factory ended production. Born of the D-type and sire to the E-Type-the lines were evolving at an early stage. Examples of the real car are very rare and ver, very expensive. This perhaps explain why there are apparently more in circulation now than were originally builts!

The model has superb engine detail: the small doors open, as does the rear boot, the lower revealing the spare tyre. This model fills a gap in the history of Jaguar racing.

This model is of the 1971 Martini-sponsored Porsche Systems car that took victory at the Sebring 12 Hour race, driven by Vic Elford and Gerard Larousse. The silver car is finished with the Martini sponsors' familiar red, light and dark blue colours and carries the American market Porsche-Audi decals on the nose and flanks. The drivers won the race by 13 laps from the Alfa Romeo of 'Nanni' Galli and Rolf Stommelen.

This Los Angeles Auto Art Victoria is bristling with features and one of the finest ever police models in 1/18th scale. It is a black and white from the Los Angeles Police Department which nost certainly does carry extras. The Federal Signals StreetHawk bar light looks good enough to illuminate, and the take down lights have the pistol grips and trigger inside the car. The Murcielago sports a 6.2L version of the legendary Lambo V-12 engine, a six speed manual or six-speed sequential automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. It also has a rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees, side mirrors that fold in to improve aerodynamics, and side scoops that automatically open to the needed size to let in just the right amount of air needed to cool its engine. The name Murcielago comes from a bull that survived 24 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honour. AutoArt commemorates the Vette's 50th anniversary with this release. It's a very nice replica featuring opening doors, hood, and trunk, and a removable roof panl a difficult item to remove and install. The model's interior is flocked with a cream colored carpet and the seats are tan with Corvette logos on the headrests. Under the hood lies its V-8 engine, but the engine bay could use more detail. Our sample's finish was very shiny and the graphics were excellent. Under the 18-inch wheels lie disc brakes that appear to be metal. With every 50th anniversary AutoArt Corvette model comes a 1:1 scale commemorative license plate frame.

Jaguar unveiled an all-new 2006 car, called simply the �XK� at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2005. It used the new XJ�s aluminum chassis and is offered as both a coup� and convertible incidentally, in a quite different manner to the way sports cars are usually designed, the coupe is based on the convertible. This meant that the engineers could design the convertible without the drawbacks of the car looking like, and actually being, a coupe with the top chopped off. This, coupled to the ultra rigid aluminum spaceframe, makes the XK convertible exceptionally rigid for a car of its type, offering an extremely impressive driving experience! Originally powered by a 300hp version of the 4.2L AJ V-8 engine, a supercharged version with 420hp is also available. The new XK�s grille is also inspired by that of the ever wonderful Jaguar E-Type and its curvaceous shape was intended as a tribute to this icon of the 1960a. The XK has also introduced a world first in pedestrian safety. In numerous pedestrian collisions with vehicles, head injuries occur when a pedestrain�s head impacts with the bonnet of the vehicle. However, the injuries are not usually sustained from the bonnet itself, rather the bonnet deforming and the pedestrain�s head colliding with the engine block underneath. Jaguar�s innovation is to have sensors in the front bumper that determine if a pedestrian has indeed been struck and this then triggers two pyrotechnical charges that instantaneously lift the bonnet, providing extra distance between engine and head. In effect, the bonnet becomes the exterior equivalent of an airbag! The bonnet�s sheet metal nay not be soft, but it�s much more accommodating than a solid engine block! (Reviewed by SMI)

Just the name �Shelby� will make any Ford fan�s heart-rate jump, and although the old snake-charmer didn�t lend much but his name and aura to Ford�s new �Shelby GT-500� Mustang. That, along with the car�s phenomenal performance, is enough to make it the most hotly sought after piece of American Iron in decades. AUTOart has just released this beautiful 1:18 scale model. It�s the 2005 �Concept Car� first shown at the New York Auto Show, though differences from the production 2007 GT-500 is almost indistinguishable. Its diecast body, mirror-smooth, authentic �Torch Red� paint, trim, and graphics are all as good as you�ll find anywhere; even the foil-thin Cobra badge and Shelby letter are chrome, not printed. The new nose, vented hood, and plumbed engine correctly have the SVT GT40 heads, supercharger, water-air intercooler. The only thing missing is the transverse brace; the show car didn�t have one. The interior is correctly upgraded with two-tone black and red seats, legible revised instruments, SVT sill plates, and a cobra horn button. --SMI

The first post-war BMW car was the 501 Limousine, built in 1953 and closely followed by the 502 in 1956. These luxuary cars were equipped firstly with 2 litres, then 2.6 litre, and on to 3.2 litre engines Top speeds varied from 85 to 112 mph.

This really s a first class model. The paint finish, fine casting detailed are applied to the radiator grille, lower air-intake grilles, front and rear silvered bumpers, silvered front lights, front and rear short wing spear and handle and spare tyre in the trunk.

JAGUAR XK C-TYPES - No.18 (WINNER) - 1953 LE MANS

The winning car, with race number 18, was driven by Britain's Duncan Hamilton and Tony Rolt. This car, chassis number XKC051, was powered by a 6 cylinder in-line engine with 3.4 litres of engine capacity pushing out 220bhp, which gave a top speed of 230kph. This model is finished accurately in British Racing Green with the correct racing number positions, and the photo-etched front grilles reveal the central mounted headlights that enabled the drivers to thread their way down the long and fast Mulsanne Straight during the hours of darkness at the famous La Sarthe Le Mans circuit.
