Daimler Heritage: TOPICS FOR DECEMBER 2010

100 years ago � 3 - 18 December 1910: Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft presented a landaulet equipped with a valveless Knight sleeve valve engine at the Paris Motor Show. Series production of the first vehicle fitted with this unit, the 16/40 hp model, began in early 1911.
50 years ago � 17 December 1960: Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler-Benz AG, Fritz K�necke, presented a special long-wheelbase version of a Mercedes-Benz 300 d Landaulet to Pope John XXIII.
40 years ago � 12 December 1970: Jointly developed with Teldix, the first-generation anti-lock brake system (ABS) for passenger cars was presented to the press in Untert�rkheim.
