Mercedes shows off safety equipment on next year�s all-new SLK convertible.
Will this be the world�s safest drop-top? Mercedes believes its next SLK sets new standards for convertibles, and has released a technical teaser shot to reveal some of its innovations.
The MkIII two-seater will come with a host of driver aids, including drowsiness detection. This is called Attention Assist, and provides an early warning if the driver is too tired.
Mercedes� acclaimed Pre-Safe occupant protection kit will also feature, with auto-braking if it senses a front-on smash is imminent. Plus, the Intelligent Light System will provide five modes for night driving. These include Country and Motorway, and are activated automatically depending on the conditions.
As we revealed in our drive of a pre-production prototype, the clever new Magic Sky Control sunroof can be made transparent or dark at the touch of a button.
