MERCEDES GP PETRONAS to showcase major upgrades car in Spain
Following the quite hesitating and "no victory" start of the 2010 F1 season, MERCEDES GP PETRONAS plans to introduce the "B" single-seater at the next month's Spanish Grand Prix, to take place at Barcelona between 7th and 9th May.
The "B" car is basically a highly-upgraded MGP W01. First information about the updated Silver Arrows was leaked on Monday and further details have surfaced since then. The most important modifications comprise a revised wheelbase, a different weight distribution and new architectures for the rear suspension and the gearbox housing. More official information will be available as the Spanish GP is approaching. Ross Brawn announced back in March that, if the W01, with all the necessary upgrades, is not able to compete for victory by June 2010, the team will practically abort updating the 2010 single-seater and will entirely focus the attention to developing the car for the 2011 F1 season.
