Hyundai cuts prices on Getz hatchback (UK)

In order to get rid of current stock, Hyundai UK are cutting the prices on the Getz hatchback to make way for the new Hyundai i20 in January 2009.

The entry level model, GSi - now starts at 5,995, less than its smaller sibling, the 6,745 Hyundai i10 city car.

The Getz is due to be replaced next year, so Hyundai is eager to sell the last of the current examples before the new model is revealed.

In real terms the reduction adds up to 1287 off the entry-level 1.1 GSI three-door Getz, which comes with air conditioning, electric windows, central locking, plus Hyundai's five-year warranty. This model returns 54mpg and emits 130g/km of carbon dioxide as standard.

Hyundai is also offering two finance deals with the Getz: one requires a 1,287 deposit and first one-off payment of 245, 35 monthly payments of 99 and then a final payment of 2,264 to own the car outright or the option to hand it back. Alternatively, there's a no-deposit option requiring just an initial payment of 285, followed by 139 a month for 35 months.

In related news, Hyundai's smallest car, i10 has a 3 month waiting list in the UK. In order to cut-down on waiting time, a 1.2 litre petrol engine will be offered. This will emit 119g/km and will return 56mpg combined.
