The C 111-II concept was part of an ambitious testing and technical development research programme, which comprised 3 cars, along with the one mentioned above:the C 111-I prototype and the C 111-I. The C 111-II sported a brilliant, athletic design, truly ahead of its time;engineers also fitted the concept with the famous Gullwing doors. Introduced in March 1970 at Geneva, the Mercedes-Benz C 111-II was powered by an ingenious 3-rotor Wankel engine, developing an output of 257 kW.
