SPY - 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Klasse - First test prototypes hit the street

By 2012, Mercedes-Benz will apply a major shift in its offer of small and compact cars, with the launch of the new A- & B-Klasse ranges, which will include many attractive models, such as a coupe, a cabriolet, a SUV, and possibly, a 4door coupe. For the beginning, the first to hit the street were the prototypes of the 2012 B-Klasse, which is bound to remain an MPV.

The styling will be inspired by the new design philosophy which made its debut on the new E-Klasse. Simple, but effective lines, which finally deliver an imposing appearance. Mercedes-Benz will give up the expensive sandwich platform and will stick to a new front-wheel drive architecture, which means a lower height, better agility and on-road performances, and, last but not least, more powerful engines to be offered.
