Special exhibition "S400 BlueHYBRID": The future is coming to the Mercedes-Benz Museum

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

Stuttgart, Germany, Oct 27, 2008

From 28 October to 23 November 2008 the Mercedes-Benz Museum is presenting the special exhibition "S400 BlueHYBRID". The first Mercedes-Benz car model with hybrid drive is coming straight from its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show to the Mercedes-Benz Museum, where it will turn heads in the museum's Fascination of Technology section.

"We are proud that the S400 BlueHYBRID is appearing at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in a special exhibition even before its market launch," says Michael Bock, managing director of Mercedes-Benz Museum GmbH. "In our museum we not only show the history of the automobile and contemporary automobiles, but the future of the automobile too, authentically and all at one location." The exhibition introduces car and engineering enthusiasts to the exciting and promising field of Mercedes-Benz hybrid technology.

What are the current innovations of the Mercedes-Benz brand? How does emission-free mobility work? Why a car with a hybrid drive? The bilingual special show in the basement of the Mercedes-Benz Museum gives the right answers to these and other interesting questions. For the entire duration of the presentation an explainer will conduct visitors through the exhibition all about the S400 BlueHYBRID and numerous smaller exhibits. The exhibition is open daily, except Monday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and admission is free.

With the S400 BlueHYBRID, Mercedes-Benz puts its first car model with hybrid drive on the market in summer 2009. The combination of a further improved V6 petrol engine with the compact hybrid module makes the S400 BlueHYBRID the world's most economical petrol-engined luxury saloon. In addition, the S400 BlueHYBRID is the first production model to be equipped with an especially powerful lithium-ion battery specifically developed for use in vehicles. And so Mercedes-Benz makes a pioneering contribution to the electrification of the automobile.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum can be quickly and conveniently reached by public conveyance. Apart from the No. 51 bus line, which plies between the Bad Cannstatt train station and the "Mercedes-Benz Welt" bus stop, it is also possible to use the "Neckarpark (Mercedes-Benz)" suburban railway station. The multi-storey car park of the Mercedes-Benz Museum and the P4 car park are open to guests of the Mercedes-Benz Museum arriving by private car. The address of the Mercedes-Benz Museum: Mercedesstrasse 100, 70372 Stuttgart. The hotline of the customer centre can be reached at 07 11 / 17 - 30 000.
