TH!NK Vehicles Coming to America for 2009

Norwegian electric car manufacturer has established TH!NK North America with the help of clean-tech investors RockPort Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins, Caulfield and Byers. TH!NK currennnnnnnn offer one model, the city, which is currently produced and sold in Norway since fall last year. With sales set to commence this year for Switzerland, France and the rest of Scandinavian in 2008, North American sales will begin in 2009 along with Italy, Germany, Netherlands and UK. Production for the 4/5 passenger Ox model (pictured above) is expected to start in 2010/2011.

After Tesla Motors backed out of a deal late last years to provide TH!NK with lithium-ion batteries, TH!NK announced at last months Geneva Motor Show a strategic partnership with General electric and US battery suppliers, A123 and EnerDel.

As the first highway-capable electric vehicle intended for mass production, TH!NK's most efficient model is the city which is emission free and 95 percent recyclable. Capable of a top speed of 65 mph (100 km/h), a single charge allows a driving range of up to 110 miles (180 km). TH!NK city meets all European and US federal safety requirements.
