Captain Slow is 48 this Sunday (16 January). And while the man himself is not massively keen on broadcasting the fact, UK TV channel Dave is being less bashful, charitably sweeping aside its planned schedule to dedicate 24 hours to the second-fastest man ever to drive a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.
Fans of lengthy, detailed explanation and the word cock can look forward to classic episodes of James Mays Top Toys, James Mays Big Ideas, Power To The People (featuring James May), James May on the Moon and Car Evolution. James May is in that, too.
While a whole day of James is probably enough for most, we thought wed get you in the mood with a taste of our man at his uncut best. Our experiment of recording James rambling for 45 minutes to a camera while driving to Dunsfold proved hugely popular last year, so heres part one again below.
(PS: Were more than aware we keep threatening to upload the full Directors Cut of James journey to work, onto TopGear.com commenters San1 and James_May are particularly keen. Its still proving comically impossible to put on the site. It has now become a matter of honour to several technical men with worried frowns and virtual spanners to make it work, so look out for it very soon.)
