Finally, after more than a year of road testing, photographers have spotted a 2012 B-Klasse prototype wearing less camouflage. The new compact sports tourer from Mercedes-Benz can now show more of its design lines and details - a lot of "flame surfacing-like" styling going on the side profile of the car, similar to what we saw on the Concept BlueZERO. The rear lamps are inspired by those fitted on the E-Klasse and will probably make use of LED technology. The front fascia will be dominated by the 3-louvre radiator grille and the big headlights. The underpinnings will consist of the new modular MFA platform (to be officially premiered on the 29th January at the 125th birthday special ceremony at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart) and efficient gas and diesel low-displacement Renault engines, as well as more powerful, juicy in-house units. In the future, further powering solutions will be offered, such as fuel-cell, hybrid and 100% electric versions. Official reveal of the new B-Klasse: IAA Frankfurt in September 2011. Till then, check out more spy shots after the jump!
