After the luxury brand of Daimler AG, Maybach, was awarded a second go, it came to light that Mercedes-Benz could actually be in advanced discussions with Aston Martin that aim an extensive cooperation. Precisely, in case of a partnership, the British firm would be in charge of developing the next-generation Maybach and, in response, the Stuttgart-based manufacturer would supply the Brits with a comprehensive array of powertrains and engines to choose from. Until the situation becomes crystal clear, we find out that the future Maybach could be previewed this year, when a concept car is officially premiered at IAA Frankfurt in September. Compared to the current model which is based on the S-Class W 140 underpinnings, the new ultra-luxurious limousine will be strongly connected to the forthcoming W 222 S-Class, expected to showcase at the end of 2012. A prime rendition of the new Maybach has already hit the internet and has been published by Autobild. Although the result is far from being shocking or impressive, it's better than nothing, for the time being.
