McLaren car exhibition set for Autosport International

Brilliant race-winning cars are synonymous with McLarens heritage, and a display of the teams finest thoroughbreds, including half a dozen Formula 1 world championship-winning cars, will be on display at the Autosport International show on January 15 and 16.

A selection of Emerson Fittipaldi, Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Mika Hakkinen and Lewis Hamiltons world title-winners can be seen at the show, which will be held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, along with the 1995 Le Mans 24 Hour-winning McLaren F1 GTR and the 1970 McLaren M8D, which crushed all opposition in the North American Can-Am Cup series.

Mika Hakkinen's dominant 1998 McLaren MP4/13 will also be on display at the show.

Other cars featured are the 1977 McLaren M24B Indianapolis 500 racer, as driven by Johnny Rutherford, who won two of those races for the team. Another jewel among many in the exhibition is the 1969 McLaren M7C, which team founder Bruce McLaren drove to the teams first Formula 1 victory.

The teams interpretation of the ultimate 21st Century road car, the MP4-12C, will also be on show.

In addition, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes third driver, Gary Paffett, will be on hand making a number of appearances on the shows main stages between 12 and 3pm on Sunday (January 16), including autograph signing sessions. He will be interviewed about his Formula 1 duties, and make an appearance on behalf of Formula Kart Stars.
