By now, you should have gaffer-taped your Car Evolution 2011 calendar to the wall, right next to that Lamborghini Diablo and signed Take That poster. Once you've ogled the awesome pictures of us cocking about in cars, you can start pencilling in some rather tasty highlights next to buy more cat food'.
Of course, there are some important electric cars like the Peugeot iON and Nissan Leaf heading your way, but if those cars stoke your juices to the point of combustion, you're on the wrong website. Instead, here are some petrol-powered firecrackers heading your way...
McLaren MP4-12C
McLaren MP4-12C
What happens when McLaren goes mass-market': a car Ron Dennis claims will become the fastest money can buy.
The new Mac supercar boasts a geek-tastic tech-fest of lightweight materials, a twin-turbo 3.8-litre V8 and 600bhp/443lb ft of torque, and a 168,500 price tag. Yes, there does exist something called a 458 Italia, which is prettier. But if this is even half as good as the F1, then all will kneel before it.

It's been the benchmark hatch since birth; in fact, you lot snapped up so many since 1999 it was the UK's best-selling car for 10 years running. The new one promises even better handling than the last (good), better and more fuel efficient engines (good) and will come in ST and RS form (great).

Who'd have thunk it. Land Rover, expert purveyor of functional and utilitarian machinery, succumbs to a fashionable word called zeitgeist' and rolls out a two-door SUV coupe. We didn't want to like it. A fashionable Range Rover? To the Tower!
Whether we like it or not is largely irrelevant, though. It will sell. By the bucketload, so get used to it. Ubiquity is a cruel mistress.

BMW 1-Series M Coupe
This is, BMW claims, the proper, full-blooded heir to the forum-favourite E30 M3.
The 1M Coupe boasts 340bhp and 331lb ft from a twin-turbo 3.0-litre six, 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and 29.4mpg. It's lower, wider and much shoutier than the 135i, and costs 39,000. Sure, it weighs some 300kg more than the original, but this could be the baby M car the internet has been crying out for.

Oh. Yes. Just 77 will be built (some 60-odd have already been sold). It has a 7.3-litre V12 with 750bhp, features space-age materials, sounds the nuts, looks the nuts and will instantly make your life perfect. The Queen no longer has the monopoly on doling out knighthoods. Aston Martin will anoint 77 new Sirs' next year.

Lexus LFA
336,000 for a Toyota? You'd have been laughed into a straightjacket. Somehow though, someone Very Important and wearing a tie-pin decided the Lexus LFA was worth nearly twice as much as a 458 Italia. Yes, it has a 4.8-litre V10 with 550bhp, looks astonishing and accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds. But at what cost?

Take one shotgun. Aim squarely at own foot. Empty both barrels. No, not another 911 variant, but a car that tells its big brother where to shove its engine: up its, oh, wait...
The Cayman will come in R' flavour next year, packing 330bhp, a 0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds and a limited slip diff. It's 15,000 cheaper than the base 911 Carrera, and a car likely to feature highly on your must buy now' list. 51,731, since you asked.

Here to redefine the laws of physics is the near two-tonne beast packing 530bhp, 451lb ft of torque and a scarcely believable 0-62mph time of three seconds.
Outside, the looks remain the same, barring a few bumper mods and side skirts. Otherwise, you're still looking at a performance bargain and a monster indicator that something in your life is seriously lacking. We won't mention what.

Mercedes CLS63 AMG
There was a moment of silence in the Car Evolution office when Mercedes announced the new CLS 63 AMG, simply because the fire-breathing 6.2-litre V8 was no more.
But that moment was short-lived, as we squealed with delight when details of the new engine were revealed. A 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 with 518bhp and a whopping 516lb ft of torque takes over duties, doing 62mph from rest in 4.4 seconds and hitting a derestricted 186mph.
Those svelte looks have also gone a few rounds with one of the Klitschkos, because it now sports a helluva lot more grrr'. The corporate car park war just turned ugly.
