New Audi A6 unveiled

By some magic of engineering, Audi has processed its A8 saloon via a large and unpronounceable de-bigulater to create this - the new Audi A6.
It is shorter, longer and lower than its predecessor, is made from aluminium and high-tech' steel, and you can buy it as a hybrid or as a 300bhp V6.

And with that shiny, sparkly new face, it's not a bad looker either. Though it's not allowed to be fashionable' - Audi has marshalled the A7 for that as part of its diabolical World Domination Via Carpet Bombing Models scheme.
Around 20 per cent of the surface area is sculpted from aluminium, helping the A6 in 2.0 TDI guise to weigh in at 1,575kg. If you're interested, a BMW 520d M Sport tips the scales at 1,695kg, This makes the Audi A6 Slimmer Of The Week.

Low weight is important because it keeps CO2 down and boosts fuel economy; the 2.0 TDI records 129g/km of the grubby stuff and 57.7mpg on the combined cycle. Herr 520d clocks in at 137g/km and 54.3mpg. A6 2.0 TDI FTW!
While we're talking grunt, the A6 will launch in the UK with four engines - the 2.0 TDI with 177bhp, a 3.0 TDI with 204bhp and 245bhp, and a 3.0-litre petrol with 300bhp and a 0-62mph sprint of 5.5 seconds. All use advanced direct injection tech, start-stop, energy recovery and innovative thermal management. Fancy way of saying heat dissipation', but whatever, it sounds cool.
