- "Top Standard Coach" award reflects the high quality of the Setra, according to Galloway managing director David Cattermole
- S 415 GT-HD emerges as outright winner from a field of 59 competitors to take top place in "UK Coach Rally"
Neu-Ulm/Coventry, Germany/United Kingdom, June 09, 2010 The "UK Coach Rally", held for many years in the coastal resort of Brighton in the south of England, took place this year for the first time - and the 57th time since it was established - in the industrial town of Peterborough (Cambridgeshire), which lies to the north-west of the famous university city of Cambridge. Together with Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, the county of Cambridgeshire forms the Eastern Counties, which correspond to the historic kingdom of East Anglia. A total of 59 vehicles took part in this year's "UK Coach Rally". From among this field of competitors, the right-hand drive Setra S 415 GT-HD, fitted with a disabled person's lift (Hidrel Gobal 300 lift), took the "Top Standard Coach of the Year" awards.
Commenting on the win, Lothar Holder, head of Setra coach sales for EvoBus GmbH, said: "We would like to congratulate Galloway on the victory at the UK Coach Rally, and are extremely pleased that the company was able win this competition with a Setra coach".
Galloway European Coachlines Ltd. is based in Suffolk and operates travel and school coach services with its fleet of 50 coaches. Two of its vehicles are the Setra S 416 GT-HD, which were acquired in 2008. The Setra S 415 GT-HD is the latest addition to the fleet, having been acquired at the end of last year and fitted out according to British specification DDA/Annex VII (disabled person's lift). As such it is also the first Setra in Great Britain to be fitted with such equipment. The managing director of Galloway, David Cattermole, is both thrilled and delighted to have received this award for the "Top Standard Coach". He considers this prize, which is widely recognised in Great Britain, to be a reflection of the high quality of Setra coaches.
Incidentally, Galloway was the only company to enter the "UK Coach Rally" with a Setra coach. The special nature of the awards lies in the fact that the prizes are awarded on the basis of assessments made by the participating coach operators.
