Rumor: S 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY headed for IAA 2009

If it is to believe what some say, then Mercedes-Benz will introduce the first-ever "4-cylinders inline" version for its flagship.

The technical specifications prove that the 2.1 litres diesel unit under the bonnet of the new S 250 CDI, borrowed from the C- and E-Klasse, is indeed powerful, fuel-efficient and versatile. The maximum output/torque delivered is 224 HP/500 Nm, the CO2 emission level equals 155 g/km, whereas the overall fuel consumption(litres/100 km) reaches a generous 5.9 l/100 km.

More details about this new S-Klasse version are prone to appear in the following days.
