997 GT3 RS

A follow up to my previous entry, 'Teaser, the GT3 RS, here are a couple of shots I took today.

Enjoy...

The 997 GT3 RS features "zero lift" aerodynamics, meaning the car creates only aerodynamic down force but no "lift". For those of you who do not know what "lift" is, it's what pulls the car upwards and away from the road surface and affects overall grip. Much like how a plane is designed to have lot's of "lift" to get airborne. This is also available on the regular GT3. Cool huh. This is one serious track machine.

Carbon Fiber GT wing.

The engine cover and rear window are made of light weight plastic to help keep the weight down.

The rear of the GT3 RS 44 mm (1.7 in) wider compared to a GT3.

The paint scheme and body panels are all designed specially for this car. This limited edition orange color was mixed specially for the GT3 RS.

Carbon Fiber everywhere. From the door sills...

To the interior trim...

Carbon Fiber bucket seats.

Even a roll cage.

Flat six, boxer engine produces 415 hp.
