GT-R... Transform!!!

December of 2008, I discovered Japanese toy maker Takara-Tomy making the 370z and GT-R into transformers! (Megatron a 370Z and Optimus Prime a GT-R?)...

Last week, I was browsing the toy stores looking for a gift for Bryan's son, Max, for his birthday and I came across them. Picked up this white one...



Not Optimus Prime. Prime is a Red GT-R, this white one is Ultra Magnus...

Car mode...

Took me a good 20 minutes and the instructions to figure out how to get it into this mode! I remember it being a lot simpler as a kid figuring out how to transform these kinda toys. *laughs*

I've got a nice Dark Metal Gray (#KAD) CBA-R35 and it's just a little different than the ones you see around...

Datsun 1200 smokes GT-R!

White Zombie, an electric-powered '72 Datsun 1200, laid the smack down on a CBA-R35 GT-R on the dragstrip with a 10.4 sec quarter-mile pass!


The old Datsun 1200 coupe equipped with RWD, a custom DC motor and a whole lot of batteries. It'll also do 0 to 100 kmh in an estimated 1.8 seconds! Sick! Check out the clip below...

HKS GT600 in the streets of KL

Remember the black CBA-R35 that came for the gathering with the HKS GT600?
Here is a short clip of it having a shakedown along Penchala Link. Awesome!

In the passenger seat of a mate's R35 GT-R, first experience with the GT680 tuning package offered by HKS Technical Factory Singapore Garage R... full throttle in 3rd and 4th, but short-shifting at 5.5k rpm to 6k rpm during the road test.

Excellent power-band and very linear delivery : a marked improvement over the standard ECU mapping.

Soon after, the sun set and darkness descended upon us. People started to leave and just when you thought everyone was heading off...

Loud bursts and bangs were heard. Fariz and the gang showed up with their straight through exhausts! They were late!

We stopped to chat for a little while then headed back to PJ/KL. The drive home was so exhilarating! Fariz, Rahim, Pen Di are all heavy footed blokes so we were really gunning it down the highways! Awesome stuff! We later stopped by TTDI, Rasta for a quick drink before heading home...



A big thanks to Azmir Zainuddin for organizing this great gathering. Check out his 'Blood Red' ER34 sporting a new front bumper! (^_^)

It was a first time organizing such a gathering and I am very thankful the Skyline Community in Malaysia were all very supportive. Without them, this would never have happened. There will be more gatherings to come and it can only get better with more activities and goodies in the future. Thank you everyone!
